Hello fellow Disney fan
Well, not sure where to begin! I’m Jeremy, big fan of Disney, Marvel, Star Wars….. you know, anything that falls under the Disney umbrella. I’ve been a Disney fan since I was a youngling (plenty of Star Wars references within my posts, I apologise in advance).
I am totally new to being a writer on a site. When Ian sent me a message asking if I would be interested in being a co-author for his website, initially, I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to commit to doing regular posts. My time as a Disney Podcaster took up a lot of my time outside of work. But a brief conversation with him and a few ideas back and forth, I couldn’t turn him down. I am honoured to be a part of this site and Discussing Disney (ahhh, see what I did there 😜) is something I love doing.
As I said previously, I have been a Disney fan for pretty much all my life but the real ‘fandom’ started after our first son was born (my wife and I have 2 sons). When he was a baby, I’d sit in the chair and feed him whilst listening to various Disney Podcasts (mainly the WDW Radio Show hosted by friend of ours Lou Mongello and being a co-host on the DIBBcast). I would listen to how Lou would chat to various guests on the show and talk about the details within the parks. Our close friend, who sadly passed away a couple of years ago, would go into the history of certain attractions in the Disney Parks, his favourite being Splash Mountain. This is when my eyes were opened and my (as my wife would put it “obsession”) passion for Disney went up a notch!
Since that moment, I have read books on the parks and imagineers, watch documentaries and various videos that are out there on the Disney Parks, Vlogs (because who doesn’t these days) and numerous websites to get my “Disney fix”. Being just over 4000 miles away from your spiritual home means you need to get a piece of Disney magic in any way you can. I have been lucky enough to visit Walt Disney World so many times and visited Disneyland Paris a few times too.
Am I bored of going to the same place over and over? Nope! Never!!
But there are other places in the world to visit! Don’t you want to see that? Yep, I can see the world at EPCOT! 😂
Disney is for kids! There are plenty for adults to enjoy and being an adult going to a Disney Park allows you to let that inner child out. When you go with kids, it’s a whole different experience!
But with all that being said, I feel I have waffled on too much.
I hope, along with my fellow writers on this site and many others, to bring you a little bit of magic with each post we create. These current times are tough and we all need a bit of magic where we can.
Take care, stay safe and keep moving forward,
