If you’re heading to Disneyland Paris this summer and you’re a fan of The Jungle Book or The Lion King then you’re definitely in for a treat.
Starting on June 30th, and running until September 22nd, The Lion King & Jungle Festival will be an immersive guest experience that brings several different elements all across Disneyland Park.
Timed to coincide with the upcoming release of The Lion King (one of my Top 5 Anticipated Movies of 2019) expect to see a carnival of colour, plenty of classic songs from the soundtracks of both movies and of course all your favourite characters too.
So what will we get to see?
Lion King Stage Show
Singers, dancers, acrobats and drummers will give a new life to the Pride Lands with choreography and original costumes designed by Disneyland Paris in an all new stage show.
“The Jungle Book Jive” with Baloo & Co.
This new creation will celebrate The Jungle Book in the heart of Disneyland Paris. Get ready to have fun with Baloo and King Louie, as well as Mickey Mouse and his Friends and dance to the rhythm of the jungle!
Be prepared for a totally immersive guest experience as you join Timon and Pumbaa in Adventureland to teach you their philosophy by dancing to Timon’s “MataDance”.
A village dedicated to The Lion King and The Jungle Book
The unforgettable Rafiki in The Lion King or the iconic King Louie in The Jungle Book will be waiting to offer a memorable immersive and interactive experience. There will be plenty of other surprises from these two classic Disney movies in the “Djembe Joy” village too!
A shopping experience dedicated to The Lion King and Jungle Festival
And of course this being Disney there’s going to be a ton of special merchandise for the fetsival too! There will be new and exclusive merchandise specially developed for Disneyland Paris. A range of products dedicated to “The Lion King: Rhythms of the Earth” show will be on offer along with fashion and lifestyle merchandise dedicated to The Lion King universe and Simba, its emblematic character.
I absolutely love the sound of this festival and am impressed by the scale of it It sounds like DLP really will make this a festival for the whole park and not just tucked away in one area.
Having exclusive merchandise for the park to celebrate the festival is great too. Often we complain that there isn’t enough park specific merchandise to buy these days, so this festival will hopefully bring some quality new stuff to collect.
Obviously with the new Lion King live action movie coming out in 2019 it makes sense for the park to really push that franchise but I think it’s a wonderful move by DLP to include The Jungle Book too. It ties in really neatly and we’ll get to see characters in the parks that we don’t normally get to see from two wonderful film franchises.
